Even though I was trying to "live green", it never occured to me that I was rich and that because of that privilege, I now had a duty to use my wealth to help others, to help the planet. I've really been enjoying other peoples submissions myself.

Vegan Addict - I think personal responsibility is a good step in the right direction. If we all led more conscious lives, I think we would see vast improvement.

Lisa - No problem, thank YOU for the comment.

It is difficult, but what I've found is that with patience and time, come either acceptance or understanding from most of those close to me. But it takes me being understanding of them too, not just them of me.

Bianca - I don't mean to call anyone out, this is just simply how I view affluence. There are many people who wouldn't consider with affluent and that is fine too. But I agree that we should be thankful for what we have.

Cookiemouse - You sure can, sometimes, even better. Thank you for the nice words.Jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01760009169211682230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2507829329403685696.post-73641330108008215052008-09-10T11:17:00.000-05:002008-09-10T11:17:00.000-05:00One can live a simple life and steel feel good. I wouldn't normally think of myself as affluent, but when you put it that way...I also have enough to buy wholesome, organic foods instead of the cheap stuff (which is loaded with HFCS and other crap...that upsets me a lot...that poor people are forced to eat badly). I guess, though, I should be more grateful for the fact that I can make choices.Biancahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11545245728462853370noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2507829329403685696.post-67463848201157679782008-09-09T12:27:00.000-05:002008-09-09T12:27:00.000-05:00thank you for the thoughtful post.
