Things That Make You Go "Aw"

This is not a food post, nor is it a rant. I just had a few pictures I thought I'd share.

You see, at least in my opinion, there often isn't much to smile about in the world these days. So I relish any opportunity I have to enjoy the 'small things' in life. I came home from work yesterday to find that Brett had taken some very cute (and very good) pictures of the cats that really made me smile.

They even made me smile again when I attached them to this post. Since I enjoyed these pictures so much, I thought I'd share them with others, maybe brighten someone's days a little bit.

Gabby watching a bird.

Gabby and Nermal cuddling (and our dirty carpet).

Nermal.

A good up-close picture of Gabby.

Nermal's fat, soft belly.

Gabby looking really cute while sleeping.

Nermal looking very wise.

Gabby.

Nermal, looking like she's about ready to say something, as usual....

I really like this picture of Gabby. Brett proves that our camera doesn't suck, I am just not very good at taking pictures apparently.

I love it when they smile!

Gabby is a funny cat.

And finally, my favorite of all these pictures, Nermal's little toes curled while she sleeps. :-)

I wanted to end with a note: I forgot to mention in the last garden update that I will not be posting a CSA round-up this weekend. My Dad went back to school for his MBA, and I am going to be in St. Louis this weekend to see him graduate! A friend of ours will be enjoying our weekly CSA.

'Til next time!

Romina - Aren't they? :-) Gabby is always photogenic, Nermal, not so much, Brett caught her on a good day.

Veggie Girl - I did too, Brett made my day by taking those.

I'm sure he'd appreciate your congratulations, I think he's very happy to be done!

Ve*ganChick - Thanks. Aw, I would love to see pictures of your critters!

Jessy - No problem, glad you enjoyed it. Ah, I will enjoy seeing my Dad for sure, but I don't really like St. Louis a whole lot anymore (even though I grew up there), but it's nice to get out of town every once in awhile anyways.

Ooooh! I hope you guys like them! Eek! If I have any advice, just don't make the patties as big as we did - they were MONSTERS!

Leng - Thank you! Gabby is such a sweetie, she's also as much of a punk as she is a sweetie though, I think that is typical. Nermal does a good Billy Idol impression. :-)

Calimaryn - :-)

Kitties! You can never go wrong posting kitty pics. I love how Gabby has her foot propped on Nermal while they sleep. And I love that you have a cat named Nermal.

As you predicted in the title of this post I awwwwwed non-stop while scrolling down! Your cats are so incredibly adorable and OMG AWWW the last picture *cuddles screen* ha ha!
I think I may have to steal one... now that this goddamn motherfucking asshole (I'm sorry) all of a sudden decided that he's not okay with me bringing a dog to work (and he's not even my boss - they agreed - but some bastard who programs and shit and basically just pays the rent for the room he sits in ). I'll be there till January and my school's fine with dogs so I'll have to be patient for another 7 months *sigh*

Hope you'll have a great time with your dad =)
Are you making him some vegan graduation cake or something?

Oh, I wish I could cuddle with your cats for a while...

I loved your cat photos! Hope you have a great visit with your Dad. If you have some downtime and would like to meetup when you're in town, let me know and we'll see if our schedules match. Otherwise, have a great weekend.

That did make me go awww!!! Especially since I've never had a kitty and I think they're so cute!

Bianca - I didn't figure anyone would mind some cute kitty pictures. :-)

Yeah, Gabby isn't very considerate of Nermal's comfort most of the time. She'll just climb on her.

Garfield was my favorite comic as a kid, we got a gray kitty, it just seemed right. ;-)

Selina - :-)

Lizzy - Hehehehehe. That is how Nermal always sleeps, it's really cute, when she's really out, man does she curl those toes!

No apologies, I am no stranger to the curse word. I would have been very angry too, you seemed so excited about getting a pup! And to build you up and let you down like that is pretty uncool, especially since the guy isn't even the boss. What IS his problem with dogs? I'll keep my fingers crossed that in 7 months you will find the perfect dog.

I'm really excited for him. I hadn't thought to bake a cake! And I don't really have time now. It's going to be a very short visit, I just want to make sure I'm there for his ceremony.

Alice - Nermal wouldn't mind, but Gabby might fight you. It's worth trying anyway though.

Erin - :-)

Lisa - Thanks. I hope to as well.

I would really love that, except this is a really short trip, we are going up Friday when I get off work and leaving Saturday evening after the festivities. I really want to go to the Shangri-La Diner though. I will definitely keep this in mind next time I'm going to St. Louis, we'll have to try to see if our schedules work for a visit. It would be really cool to meet a fellow blogger in person! Especially, a Mexican loving Missouri vegan whose husband plays the mandolin (really cool by the way, we like bluegrass). If you are ever in or near the Columbia area, do let me know.

Vegan_Noodle - Aw! You need a kitty!

Hey Jennifer, we'll try again another time to meetup! I also have out of town parents and know how hard it is to visit and work in other activities. You guys like bluegrass too? We'll definitely have to get together in the future! (Although Don is more bluegrass and I'm more Rock n Roll!)

The little feet photo is my favorite too! Makes me wish I had the lazy relaxing life your kitties do!

Thanks for the nice comments on my post... There is always reassurance in knowing I'm not the only one who gets nervous in crowds! I have never worn heels, so I am sure it would have been a major disaster if I had at the benefit dinner! Goodness, the thought makes me shudder!

That's awesome about your dad getting his MBA! Enjoy his graduation and your weekend.

Aw! Lovely pictures. Today I was reading about Bastet, the Egyptian cat goddess, so these pictures fit perfectly. Congrats to your Dad!

Lisa - We'll definitely have to. I'll contact you when we are planning our next trip so we can find a time that works for all of us. Yes, we are fans of bluegrass, and rock 'n' roll as well, I am really picky, but like all sorts of music. You actually reminded me, I needed to update my profile (finally) to add my favorite music, books, and movies.

Vegan Addict - Wouldn't it be nice to have nothing better to do besides cuddle with another kitty?

Haha. No problem, I should have actually said that I am just clumsy in general. You can ask Brett, I manage to hurt myself in very interesting things. Sometimes, I'm not even sure how I manage to do it.

I never wear heels, I hate them, but know my dad likes it when I attempt to 'look like a girl', however, it could end in disaster. When I was getting ready to graduate, I actually had to have some practice sessions with the heels. I still got wobbly though.

I'm excited for him too.

Cookiemouse - Thank you, Brett is a lot better with the camera than I am. How fitting!
